“ Food is always plentiful and savory! Prices are a bit on the higher end. Dining in is a lovely treat. Sometimes there’s live music which truly sets the tone. I wish them nothing but success. I pray to see them open up a 2nd location in possibly Mt Airy or Germantown. ”
“ I loved this place. I am always looking for great Caribbean food. The restaurant's atmosphere was calm and warm. Our waiter Ms Dee was so kind and attentive to us. She was very knowledgeable about our menu and answered every question in detail in response to our enquiries about the menu. We went there yesterday Tuesday evening June 6th 2023 for black restaurant week and ordered delicious food. I also got the Island Wings their Signature Appetizer Served with Pineapple-Ranch Dip and Vegetable Slaw and it was very good. Omg the Vegetable Spring Rolls Served with Sweet Chili Plum Sauce crispy and flavorful. I am a mac and cheese connoisseur and self-proclaimed "King of macaroni and cheese"or at least everyone that has tasted mine has told me such however this takes me down memory lane when I was a child and all of those after church dinner when Grandma used to bake mac and cheese and other delectable delicious on the plate. words cannot express the love, passion and experience behind everything I tasted. we also enjoyed the blackened catfish on top of warm creamy mashed potatoes served with green beans. I also ordered The jerk Chicken which is a classic Jamaican dish and let me tell you this Chef has what it takes when it comes to authentic Jamaican cuisine. I have never ever had Jamaican jerk chicken so flavorful in my entire. Every spice stands out and is easily married with each other, the rice and peas was magnificent as well as the cabbage. the star of the show was the banana pudding cheesecake. I can't wait to come back to the future visits to try all of the other delicious desserts other dishes on the menu. I have officially made this my favorite Caribbean restaurant in Philadelphia all hands down. I personally don't feel that it gets any better than this! And I guess if it does then I guess I'm in for it and it will be my pleasure indeed Chef Carl Lewis came out to say hello and welcome us there, that was so very nice of him to do that. He has been a certified and licensed Chef for over fifty years and worked in Philadelphia at many of the prestigious restaurants hotels and etc in the city. I can truly say he is a Master of his craft and his hands are anointed to cook. Thank you so much Chef Carl Lewis your food has touched my life and your my inspiration to cook and be a better chef myself, I'm impressed! Words cannot explain how much I enjoyed myself .The music was also a vibe too. I really really enjoyed my experience here and will for sure be coming back for dinner at some point and also brunch too! Thank you again , Julian ”
“ The food was great - I wanted everything on the menu. I couldn't wait to come back and try more so I ordered extra food to go. The atmosphere is so nice and warm - lots of space, which feels like a luxury these days, and kind servers. The staff is super friendly and I would come back just for a chat. They're doing something special for Black History Month so make sure you come visit around Valentine's weekend!!! ”
“ Same cool family elevating the Jamaican/ Caribbean Cuisine from styrofoam takeout platters to elegant sit down dine in service. Get a patty to set things off - dinner did not come out fast. But the end result is a satisfying & tasty experience curated by the same chef who has been there since it opened. The jerk pork chop, which was well seasoned & tender is the biggest hit amongst many other great options. ”
“ BEST SERVICE AWARD GOES TOO.. okay I’ve NEVER had such a nice person help me at a restaurant like this. Came in because I received a birthday coupon in my email and upon arrival had some trouble using it and some trouble ordering . The kind older lady at the front not only helped me honor the coupon she also helped with the order and was so kind and patient the ENTIRE TIME!! What a sweet soul ! The food here is consistently good and always comes out hot. I feel like you get a good portion for what you pay as well ! Will always make the drive to this place because they really are great. Also a note they are dine in ONLY ! Happy eating ”
“ We had ackee & saltfish, spicy conch fritters, wings, and braised oxtail. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Everything was savory but not overly salty. I look forward to going back there again soon! ”
“ Wonderful place for a nice romantic meal! Hubz and I decided to try this place for an anniversary lunch. Although you wouldn't be able to tell from outside, this is a nice, quiet little gem. We were seated immediately by our waiter. (I must say, I was surprised that the only waiter in this black establishment was white), just something I noticed. He was really nice and welcoming. Their menu can be found online by scanning a QR. It's pretty straightforward. They have a nice selection of creative dishes. We ordered some wings for appetizers. I ordered Shrimp and Chicken Rasta Pasta. Hubz ordered the fish and waffles dish. He got a ginger beer, and I got a tropical ginger juice. The meal was delicious! Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly! Compliments to the chef! 5 After our meal, the owner (I believe) came by and told us about a Valentines Day event they were having with a live band and specials. Along with all my normal ones, we had to take a pic with our waiter as well because he was so friendly. ”
“ If you're looking for affordable, delicious food, you must come here! My guests and I enjoyed every dish, and the waitstaff and the owners were very attentive and friendly. Great BYOB spot. Recommended dishes: island wings, on the bayou, porridge, grits, sorrel, pancakes, jerked chicken with cabbage, rice and peas. ”
